How to Set Up a CRM Integration
Step 1: Access CRM Settings
Navigate to CRED Settings: https://commercial.credplatform.com/my-account/settings
My account β Settings β Link CRM
Step 2: Choose CRM and Authentication
Select your CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics)
Choose the authentication type (OAuth, API Key, etc.)
Step 3: Accept Permissions
View & accept our read and write permissions (Contacts, Accounts, etc.)
Note: If you want to set up special permissions for your organization i.e. restrictions around notes then please reach out to us for more information.
Step 4: Enter Subdomain and Authenticate
Provide necessary CRM details (e.g., subdomain, instance URL)
Tip: Check your CRMβs web URL for this.
Log in and authenticate access
Step 5: Matching initial data sync
Once authenticated, CRED will begin the initial data sync.
Monitor progress under the Data Matching tab: https://commercial.credplatform.com/my-account/matching
My account β Settings β Matching
Monitor accounts matched, meaning CRED has found a matching account and appended CREDβs proprietary data in our web app. This can be synced to your CRM via mapping that field to a field in your CRM. Create one if you haven't already.
Click on a row to adjust which CRED Company your imported account is matched to.
Monitor remaining accounts, which are records we can't find a match for. Click into each one to manually find a matching entry.
Monitor & reconcile duplicates.
The source denotes if it comes from Salesforce for example.
Step 7: Field Management
Is Exportable? Setting is configurable only for admins and allows you to disable a field's ability to be exported via .csv, which can help with compliance.
Note: To remove a field from syncing with CRM, you can unmap it.
Is Required? Mandates if it should always be included in syncs. If a field is marked as required and is left unfilled, the synchronization process will not proceed. This ensures that essential data is captured before any data transfer occurs, thereby preventing incomplete records from being sent to integrated systems like CRM platforms.
Read, update, delete and rule settings are all configurable per mapped field too.
Data Management & Syncing
Data Matching
CRM records will be automatically matched with CRED entities.
Users can manually adjust mappings as needed.
Ensure accuracy of data matching to prevent duplication.
Data Sync Visibility
Once a contact is created in the CRM, it will appear in CRED under People β My Contacts (next to the search bar)
Once an account is created in the CRM, it will appear in CRED under Company β My Accounts (next to the search bar)
Previous activity history for matched contacts will be visible.
Last activity timestamps will be displayed within the CRM.
Data Storage & Security
All customer data is securely stored in a segregated instance on Google BigQuery.
Data is highly encrypted and only accessible to permitted organizations.
Detailed data architecture specs available upon request.
Data Syncing Rules
Sync frequency and data field access can be configured per organization.
Rules can be applied to control read/write permissions per field.
CRED enables enrichment of CRM data by pulling in additional fields.
Custom fields can be created within the CRM for storing net new data.
Sync limits vary based on the selected CRED plan.
Trigger syncs via per company/person via:
3 dot menu on company/people row.
3 dot menu on company/people sidebar.
Trigger syncs in bulk:
Sync an entire list via 'Export' button in a list (top right)
Sync selected companies/people via 'Export' button in the action bar
Key CRM Integration Considerations
Common Challenges & Solutions
Privacy Settings Across Departments
Ensure role-based permissions are configured within the CRM.
CRED allows for granular control of user access levels.
Data Inconsistencies from External Sources (e.g., Hospitality Sites)
Validate data before syncing to avoid duplications or errors.
Use Data Matching tools to reconcile records manually if needed.
Preventing Overwriting of User Accounts
Implement merging rules for users with both work and personal emails.
Set field-level protections to prevent unwanted updates.
Integration Setup Timelines
CRM setup and enrichment generally takes 1-3 days, depending on data complexity.
Additional time may be required for large-scale migrations.
Email Integration & Data Privacy Concerns
CRED is GDPR & SOCII compliant.
Obtain necessary legal approvals before enabling CRM & email sync.
Embedding CRM into the Sales Process
Use Saved Views, Reports, and Automations to streamline processes.
Field Visibility & Management
Default fields are mapped automatically, but admins can manually create custom fields.
Ensuring the right fields are visible improves data accuracy and usability.
Customization of views is recommended to surface the most relevant information.
Checks to Perform Before Go-Live
β Verify correct CRM permissions and privacy settings.
β Ensure all essential fields are mapped correctly.
β Test sync functionality with sample data.
β Validate that reporting data is accurate post-sync.
β Train sales and support teams on the new integration workflow.
