Marketing Budget Overview
Welcome to our help center article on understanding the marketing budget! In this article, we will discuss the importance of knowing a company's marketing budget and how it can help you in your sponsorship negotiations. Let's dive in!
Rationale
When it comes to prospecting for potential sponsors, understanding their marketing budget is crucial. This information allows teams to focus their efforts on prospects that can realistically invest in a partnership, saving time and resources. It also ensures that the sponsorship negotiation process is more efficient and productive, increasing the likelihood of securing sponsors who can commit to meaningful collaborations.
Explanation
The marketing budget is an important factor to consider during prospecting, as it helps properties qualify whether the brand has the financial capacity to afford the size of deal that you're aiming for. The marketing and sales budget may either represent actual values, if coming from public companies, or it may be an estimate. If it’s an estimate, then it’s a modeled output using our proprietary algorithm which is trained on hundreds of thousands of companies. Marketing budgets factor into account metrics such as marketing headcount, digital spend and the industry classification.
