Sector, Industry, and Sub-Industry Taxonomy (Client Reference)

Last updated: January 26, 2026

Overview

To support a smooth CRM sync and downstream data consistency, CRED provides a standardized sector → industry → sub-industry taxonomy that clients can reference before and during onboarding.

This taxonomy helps ensure alignment on categorical values and minimizes rework during data mapping and ingestion.

How to Use This File

Clients should use this taxonomy as a reference guide, not a hard requirement.

Recommended usage:

  • Review the taxonomy before syncing your CRM to understand expected values

  • Map your internal sector/industry fields to the closest matching entries

  • Use the structure to normalize inconsistent or free-text fields

  • Flag gaps or mismatches early with your CRED contact to avoid integration delays

What’s Included

  • Hierarchical structure: Sector → Industry → Sub-Industry

  • Definitions added where publicly available standards were missing

  • Designed to be flexible across different CRM schemas

Important Notes

  • This is a living reference, not an exhaustive or prescriptive standard

  • Clients are not required to match values 1:1, but closer alignment improves data quality and reporting outcomes
