Your Home Dashboard: Working with the CRED Assistant
Last updated: July 20, 2026
Overview
Your home dashboard puts the CRED assistant at the center of your workspace — one place to query your data and take action in natural language, from creating lists to setting up alerts. It's the default home for everyone, and you can switch back to the classic layout at any time.
Before you start
- The assistant-centered home is your default view when you open CRED.
- What the assistant can do for you depends on your connected integrations and permissions.
- Nothing here is destructive — you can always switch back to the classic dashboard.
Step-by-step
1. Ask the assistant anything
At the center of your home is the assistant composer, with the prompt Ask CRED anything. Type a request in plain language — "Ask me anything — I can search your data, surface insights, and take action for you." Use it to query your data, build lists, and increasingly to create sequences, reports, and scores.
💡 Tip: Start simple, e.g. "Show me companies added to my pipeline this week." You can refine your request in follow-up messages.
2. Use the capability chips
Below the composer, dynamic chips show the parts of CRED the assistant can help with. Selecting one opens a preview card with a shortcut to that area:
- Matching — match imported records to your data (**Open matching**)
- Company Discovery — find new accounts that fit your ICP (**Open companies**)
- Person Discovery — find the right people at your accounts (**Open people**)
- Brand interactions — see who's engaging with your brands (**Open people**)
- News Alerts — get notified when brands move (**Open alerts**)
- Dynamic lists — auto-add matching accounts to a list (**Open builder**)
- Scoring — rank accounts by ICP fit (**Open scoring**)
- Sequences — multi-step personalized outreach (**Open sequences**)
- Reports — board-ready reporting (**Open reports**)
- Dashboards — live performance dashboards (**Open dashboards**)
- Meetings — pre & post-meeting intelligence (**Open meetings**)
- Email Manager Agent — let CRED draft and queue replies (**Open email agent**)
Each chip gives you two ways to work:
- Keep talking to the assistant right here on your home dashboard, or
- Open a split-screen view — the chip's shortcut (for example Open companies) takes you to that part of the app with the assistant loaded alongside it, carrying your conversation with you. The assistant can then act on the screen while you work — much like using Artifacts in Claude or ChatGPT.
3. Complete your setup
At the top of home, the GET SET UP panel tracks your onboarding — You're {x} of {y} through your setup. The steps differ by role (individual contributors vs. admins) and the panel stays until you've finished, at which point it shows All done 🎉.
4. Review "Suggested for you"
Beneath the composer, the Suggested for you section surfaces proactive action items chosen specifically for you, drawn from your own data and activity. Each card is a real, personalized next step rather than a generic tip:
- Meeting prep — get briefed before your upcoming meetings (**View meetings**)
- Pipeline — review your open deals and catch at-risk accounts (**Open deals**)
- Updated data — see what changed since your data was last refreshed (**Review changes**)
- News — company news for your accounts (**See what's new**)
- Lists — pick up saved lists that are ready to work (**Open lists**)
- Brand interactions — see who's engaging with your brands
Selecting any item works the same way as the capability chips — you can continue in the assistant with that item as context, or open the split-screen view that takes you to the relevant page with the assistant alongside it, your conversation carried over so it already knows what you're working on.
Where a signal isn't switched on yet, the card shows a setup suggestion with a Turn on action (for example, to start receiving company news or pipeline alerts).
💡 Tip: These items are personal to you and get sharper the more you use CRED — the assistant learns which accounts, deals, and signals matter to you.
5. Switch back to the classic dashboard
Prefer the previous layout? Select the pencil icon (**Customize home layout**) in the top right, open the Home layout menu, and choose Classic dashboard. To return, reopen the same menu and choose Command Center (the default).

FAQs
How do I get back to the old dashboard?
Select the pencil icon (**Customize home layout**) in the top right, then choose Classic dashboard from the Home layout menu.
What can I ask the assistant to do?
Today you can search your data, surface insights, and create lists in natural language. Creating sequences, reports, scores, and imported lists via the assistant is rolling out — you'll see more capabilities appear as chips over time.
Why does my "Suggested for you" section show "Turn on" instead of results?
Those are setup suggestions for signals you haven't enabled yet, such as company news or pipeline alerts. Select Turn on to start receiving live items for that topic.
Why don't I see a particular chip or app area?
Capability chips reflect your workspace's features and your permissions. If something's missing, you may not have access to that area — check with your workspace admin.
What does "Approvals appear here later" mean?
It's a placeholder for upcoming functionality: actions the assistant queues for your review will surface in this section in a future release.
Troubleshooting
Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
Home opens to the classic layout | Home layout is set to Classic dashboard | Open Customize home layout and choose Command Center |
Assistant doesn't return data | The relevant integration isn't connected | Connect your CRM/email in Settings, then retry |
Suggested for you is empty | No live signals yet, or none enabled | Use Turn on to enable signals; items populate as you work in CRED |
A chip's action opens an empty area | You lack data or access for that capability | Add data or ask your admin about access |
