CRED Single Sign-On (SSO): Google Workspace Setup Guide

Last updated: January 16, 2026

This guide explains how to configure Google Single Sign-On (SSO) for your CRED workspace, allowing team members to sign in using their Google Workspace or personal Google accounts.

Prerequisites

Before setting up Google SSO, make sure the following requirements are met.

  • You must have CRED Workspace Admin access. Only workspace administrators can enable SSO.

  • You must have Google Workspace admin access if you plan to restrict sign-in to organizational Google accounts.

Setting Up Google SSO

Step 1: Access SSO Settings in CRED

  1. Log in to your CRED workspace as an administrator.

  2. Navigate to Members in the left sidebar.

  3. Click Enable SSO.

Step 2: Complete the OAuth Connection (as a user)

  1. As a user, click Connect with Google.

  2. You will be redirected to Google’s sign-in page.

  3. Sign in using your Google account.

  4. Review the permissions CRED is requesting and click Allow.

Step 3: Verify the Connection

  1. Open an incognito or private browser window.

  2. Navigate to your CRED workspace login page.

  3. Click Sign in with Google.

  4. Confirm that you can successfully authenticate.

What Users Experience

  • Once Google SSO is enabled by the admin user, the users with SSO enabled trying to sign in via email and password will be prompted 'Sign in with SSO'.

  • Clicking the button redirects them to Google OAuth authentication flow.

  • After successful authentication, users are automatically signed into CRED.

FAQs

Why do I see “Access Blocked: This App’s Request is Invalid”?

This is usually caused by cached authentication data.
Clear your browser cookies and cache, then try signing in again.
If the issue continues, contact CRED Support.

Why do I see “This App Is Blocked” or “App Not Verified”?

  1. (Easiest option) Invite your admin to CRED and ask them to sign in via Microsoft

  2. Your Google Workspace administrator has restricted third-party app access. Ask your administrator to trust CRED in the Google Admin Console under:
Security → API Controls → App Access Control.

Why do I see “This App Doesn’t Comply with Google’s OAuth 2.0 Policy”?

This error is often temporary.

Wait a few minutes and try again, or clear your browser cache.
If the message persists, contact CRED Support.

I’m part of the organization but can’t sign in. What’s wrong?

You may belong to an Organizational Unit (OU) with restricted app access.

Ask your Google Workspace administrator to:
• Confirm your OU allows access to CRED
• Verify that your Google account is active and not suspended

After signing in with Google, I’m redirected back to the login page. How do I fix this?

Try the following steps:

  1. Clear browser cookies and cache.

  2. Ensure third-party cookies are enabled.

  3. Try signing in using a different browser.

  4. Temporarily disable browser extensions and retry.

Why do I see “Access Denied” after selecting my Google account?

This usually means you do not have a CRED account or have not been invited to the workspace.

Contact your workspace administrator and ask them to send you an invitation.

I’m being signed in with the wrong Google account. How do I switch?

  1. Sign out of all Google accounts in your browser.

  2. Clear browser cookies.

  3. Go to the CRED login page and click Sign in with Google.

  4. In the account selector, choose Use another account and sign in with the correct credentials.

I’m having issues with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). What should I do?

2FA is managed by Google, not CRED.

Verify that:
• 2FA is correctly set up on your Google account
• You have access to your 2FA device or backup codes

For account recovery or policy issues, contact your Google Workspace administrator.

Should I use my personal or work Google account?

Use the account specified by your workspace administrator.

In most cases, this will be your work Google account.
If you are unsure, contact your administrator for confirmation.
